BRI Turn-Up Using the TSI-1569

1.

Use
with any portable ISDN BRI Test Set.
|
|
2.
|
The
TSI-1569 is installed permanently in the Central Office (CO)
in a 19/23-inch rack. The CO technician will assign a callback
number with a rollover feature capability according to the
switch translation table. This number will allow the field
test technician to dial to the TSI-1569, once accessed the
TSI-1569 will allow the technician to test and turn up the
ISDN BRI line, by ringing the portable ISDN BRI test set,
setting up loopback and allowing for BERT testing.

Set
the callback number in the TSI-1569 by typing table phone-num
callback. This setup will be done once the TSI-1569 is installed
in the CO.

4.
|
Go
off hook in the portable ISDN BRI test set. A dial tone should
be heard.

5.
|
Dial
the TSI-1569 CALLBACK number.
|
|
6.
|
The
Model 1569 will automatically respond with a tone acknowledging
the connection and providing a loopback for BERT test.
|
|
7.
|
The
technician can start a BERT test.
|
|
8.
|
If
the calling number is not passed to the TSI-1569 it will respond
with an alarm audible tone then will go into a loopback for
BERT testing.

9.
|
Twenty-three
(23) separate and simultaneous ISDN BRI Turn-Ups can take
place using the TSI-1569.
|
|
10.
|
To
verify caller ID or ANI after the tone is heard, the technician
should hang up by going ON HOOK with the portable ISDN-BRI
test set.

|
11.
|
The
TSI-1569 then places a call back to the portable ISDN BRI
test set.
|
|
12.
|
When
the portable ISDN BRI test set answers, the TSI-1569 will
respond with a tone to acknowledge the connection, then enter
a loopback state allowing the technician to use the BERT feature
of the portable ISDN BRI test set to verify the line connection.
