TSI-1567 APPLICATION CODE INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

The following procedure requires Procomm Plus or equivalent to perform the TSI-1567 applications code download.  Other communications programs could be used if the configuration is setup accordingly.

  1.  Configure Procomm Plus -

	Go to Setup Menu (Alt-S)
	Select Protocol Options
	Select General Options
	Set Abort Xfer if CD Lost = no  
	Select Protocol Options
	Select ASCII Protocol
	Set Char Pacing             = 0 msecs
	Set Line Pacing             = 0 tenths of a sec
        Set Pace Character          = 62  (use '>' as pace character)
	Set CR Translation (Upload) = None
	Set LF Translation (Upload) = STRIP
	Escape out

  2. Connect the computer to the TSI-1567 RS-232C interface and observe the 1567  
     prompt.  The computer must be operating at the TSI-1567 baud rate.

	1567>

  3. Type "$$DOWNLOAD" at the prompt and enter.

  4. The TSI-1567 should responds as follows:

	ECHO  <ON,OFF>              Turn character echo ON or OFF
	ERASE                       Erase all the Main FLASH blocks
	ERASE <P1,P2,M1,M2,M3,M4>   Erase specified portions of FLASH memory
	LOAD                        Erase & start download of Motorola S-record file
	LOADNE                      Start download of s-records, but NO erase of FLASH
	END                         End download of S-records
	STATUS                      Show Status of downloaded code
	DUMP  addr                  Dump bytes starting at the specified hex address
	WB    addr value            Write  8-bit hex value at specified hex address
	WW    addr value            Write 16-bit hex value at specified hex address
	PW    addr value            Program 16-bit hex value in Flash at hex address
	GO                          Start execution of downloaded code

  5. Type LOAD at the "Dnld>" prompt.
     Watch FLASH erase messages.
     Special "->" prompt should appear as follows:

	Erasing ...
	Param Block 1, 2
	Main Block  1, 2, 3, 4
	->  6. Upload FLASH (this requires approximately 10 minutes at 38.4K baud) 

		Page Up 
		ASCII protocol
		A:1567_XXX.hex 		(Refer to disc for value of XXX)
						(Assumes the upload disc is in A: drive)

  7. After the last S-record is uploaded, the "Dnld>" prompt should return.

  8. Type "GO" to run newly loaded application code.

 10. Type "CONFIRM" so code will automatically load next time at power on.

 11. The software upgrade is complete.
