TSI-1567 Release Notes Version 1.37, Jun 1, 1998 ========================= 1- Added new Quiet & 1004 Hz alternating pattern. This pattern is for incoming calls to the TSI-1567 (useful to set up TABLE entries using this pattern so callers can access it easily). The pattern gives 9 seconds of 1004 Hz tone followed by 1 second of quiet termination in an endless repeating sequence. 2- Corrected problem with echo canceller disable tone generation when used as option in TEST command. Tone was never being generated and pattern was being left as ONES regardless of requested TEST PATTERN. 3- Added new switch types: 4ESS, 5ESS (replaces old ATT type), NI2, and ETSI. 4- Added MODEL command. Returns "1567" to identify the product model number. 5- Added a new feature to facilitate Year 2000 compliance. The new SYS YEAR <2,4> command can be used to configure the 1567 to display either a 2-digit or a 4-digit year when showing the system date in response to the DATE command. The year will still be 2 digits in log printouts. The DATE command will now accept either a 2-digit or 4-digit year when setting the date, regardless of how the SYS YEAR is set. Version 1.36, Mar 9, 1998 ========================= 1- Fixed bug in CALLBACK template logic. Potential problems with templates over 10 digits. Also, incoming calls with no Calling Party Number (ANI) would result in no callback even if template supplied a complete callback number. Problem corrected. Version 1.35, Jan 19, 1998 ========================== 1- Minimum length of call-in test (TABLE TEST, TABLE TEST_CALLBACK) is now 5 seconds instead of 25. 2- The status display of TABLE TEST and TABLE TEST_CALLBACK entries now includes the data pattern name as well as the data pattern index number. 3- The TABLE status display now only shows 10 digits for the incoming Called Party Number. Version 1.34, Jan 8, 1998 ========================= 1- Changed name of tone pattern -- TONE 1025A is now called TONE 1025. Version 1.33, Jan 7, 1998 ========================= 1- Fixed problem in OVERVIEW -- test number was not being shown correctly for tests originated using Execute Raw. 2- SYS FAC_CA_TSC OFF now functions correctly for Type 2 UUI as well as Type 4 UUI now. Version 1.32, Dec 22, 1997 ========================== 1- The TABLE CALLBACK and TABLE TEST_CALLBACK functions were enhanced. An additional parameter was added to both TABLE entry types. The new parameter is a template used to create the new Called Party (destination) phone number that will be the target of the callback. Previously, the callback was generated to the Calling Party Number received on the original call to the 1567. However, the new template allows the Calling Party number to be modified before it becomes the destination number for the callback. For example: TEST 3391001 CALLBACK 1XXXXXXXXXX The X's indicate digits to be taken from the incoming Calling Party Num. Any other digits (like the '1') indicate digits to be inserted in specific position in the new Called Party Number that will be dialed. In this example an incoming call to 3391001 is received from 4046297745, and a loopback will be given. When the call disconnects, a new outgoing call will be launched to 14046297745. Version 1.31, Dec 18, 1997 ========================== 1- To originate a Type 4 UUI calls with no B channels, enter the following: TEST CHAN D This should set up the proper Bearer Capability and Channel Id. TEST START will originate the call. There really is no bit error rate test associated with this call, but it is assigned a test number. The call will NOT show up in the overview(TEST OV), but it will show up in the CALLS display. The test number will be either 49 or 50 for outgoing calls, and 51 or 52 for incoming calls. Two outgoing and two incoming calls can be handled at one time. 2 - Once the call has been taken to the ACTIVE state, the existing UUI commands such as SEND USERINFO and SEND CONGESTION RNR will work as before. 3- The call can be dropped using the DISC command or the TEST STOP command. 4- The DISC command has been enhanced. You can now type "DISC xxx UUI", where xxx is the call reference value of the target call. This will cause a UUI to be included in the DISCONNECT message. 5- The maximum value of SYS MAUUI is now 135. The maximum value of SYS CAUUI is now 255. 6- The ability to send a UUI with the SETUP message is still somewhat weak. However, if SYS CODESET7 ON is entered, SETUP messages will include a UUI if SYS SWITCH DEX is configured, and will send a UUI with a Codeset 7 prefix if SYS SWITCH DMS is in effect. There are historical (or hysterical) reasons why this works. The terminating end will ignore the UUI with or without Codeset 7 now so that any TABLE entry matching the Called Party Number will now work. This corrects the previous problem. 7- There is a new SYSTEM parameter. SYS FAC_CA_TSC can be set to ON or OFF. SYS FAC_CA_TSC ON - rec'd FAC_CA_TSC messages get FAC_ACK reply. SYS FAC_CA_TSC OFF - rec'd FAC_CA_TSC messages get FAC_REJECT reply. Version 1.30, Sep 11, 1997 ========================== 1- Added an addtional 1025 Hz tone. This one has an amplitude of -9.7 db. The new tone is called "Tone 1025B". The existing 1025 Hz tone is now called "Tone 1025A". Version 1.29, Aug 12, 1997 ========================== 1- Added NSF for UUI to Facility Reject messages triggered by the TABLE FAC_REJ and SEND FAC_REJ commands. 2- Corrected some errors in the Congestion control RR and RNR messages, including the call reference value. Increased the maximum value of SYS CONGESTION to 65535 from 9999. 3- Added two new send commands to assist in UUI testing. SEND CONGESTION RR SEND CONGESTION RNR Version 1.28, Jul 31, 1997 ========================== 1- Change for calls initiated using EXECUTE RAW commands. The corresponding test will now be killed after the specified duration of the call, not the duration of the test after pattern sync is achieved. Version 1.27, Jul 29, 1997 ========================== 1- Enhancement to support Meridian 81 PBX. Added new switch type. SYS SWITCH MERIDIAN will configure the unit for the PBX. When the unit is operating in the MERIDIAN mode, SETUP messages will have a slightly different Channel Id info element. The channel number (Octet 3.3) will NOT have Bit 8 set to a 1. 2- Changed angle brackes used in "" in CALLS and OVERVIEW Called Number fields to parentheses as in "(incoming)". This was done to prevent confusion with host software that looks for the ">" to indicate the command prompt. 3- Added new switch type. If the SYSTEM SWITCH SIEMENS option is in effect, Service and Service Ack messages are now sent with Protocol Descriminator of 43 (hex) instead of 03 (hex). Version 1.26, Jul 10, 1997 ========================== 1- Fixed problem encountered when receiving locking shifts to codesets other than Codeset 6 or Codeset 7. Version 1.25, Jun 17, 1997 ========================== 1- The TSI-1567 has been enhanced to provide various means of supporting testing of User-User Information (UUI) capabilities. Incoming calls can be processed according to the following new incoming Called Number Table entry types: a) TABLE UUI_ALERTING b) TABLE UUI_CONNECT c) TABLE UUI_ALERT_CONNECT d) TABLE UUI_DISC e) TABLE UUI_LOOP f) TABLE UUI_RNA g) TABLE FAC_CA_TSC h) TABLE FAC_REJECT In addition, the TSI-1567 will respond to messages containing UUI-related information elements and will send CONGESTION RNR messages if configured to do so. Some new commands have also been added to allow for transmitting UUI-related messages for existing calls and examining the UUI of received messages: a) SYS CONGESTION b) SYS CAUUI c) SYS MAUUI d) SEND USERINFO e) SEND FAC_CA_TSC f) SEND FAC_CLEAR g) SEND FAC_REJECT h) DUMP USERINFO More information about the UUI capabilities and related commands is available in a separate document. 2- Support has been added to support the testing of switches that support call bridging. The TSI-1567 can request that two existing calls be 'bridged' at the switch, releasing the calls from the TSI-1567's PRI. The new BRIDGE command is provided to allow the user to request for two existing calls to be bridged. The new TABLE BRIDGE command allows the TSI-1567 to be configured to respond to an incoming call by placing an outbound call, and then automatically requesting for the switch to bridge the two calls. 3- Added NAME command. Each TSI-1567 can be given a desciptive name consisting of up to 80 characters & spaces. 4- The command PROMPT has been expanded to allow up to 29 characters, including spaces. 5- Added AUDIO3K and AUDIO7K to the TEST CAPABILITY command. These new options are added to the existing SPEECH, UNRESTRICTED, and RESTRICTED choices. TEST CAPABILITY specifies the Information Transfer Capability that will be sent as part of the Bearer Rate Information element in the SETUP message. 6- Added Audio 3.1khz & Audio 7khz to the Call Log printout for Bearer Rate information elements. 7- TEST PATT HANDSET added. Outgoing call will use the handset instead of a traditional data pattern. Only one handset call at a time can be active. 8- Added ability to use channel x-y type assignments in the TEST CHAN command (dash to be used for 'through'). For example, instead of specifying: TEST CHAN 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 15 16 17 The user can now specify: TEST CHAN 4-10 15-17 9- A new capability now exists that allows an incoming call to have a bit error rate test performed against the call. The caller only has to provide a loopback and the capability to hear audio on his originating equipment. The test to be performed for all calls to a specified Called Party Number is configured using the new TABLE TEST command. The test duration, data pattern, and number of allowed errors are settable parameters. Once the call is active, the TSI-1567 will start a test using the parameters specified in the TABLE TEST command. When the test is complete, the caller will hear a tone that indicates whether the test passed or failed. 10- In addition to the ability to run a bit error rate test against an incoming call as described above, the TSI-1567 is capable of running the test, hanging up, and placing an outbound call to the Calling Party Number of the original call, and executing another bit error rate test. Like before, the results of the test are indicated with audio tones. This type of testing can be configured using the TABLE TEST_CALLBACK command. 11- A new command has been added to allow phone numbers for outgoing test calls to be specified as type International, National, Subscriber, or Unknown. The format of the new command is: TEST PHONE TYPE 12- The call log has been enhanced to show the Phone Number Type for Calling Party and Called Party phone numbers. The Phone Number Types are International, National, Subscriber, and Unknown.
